• The Dry Cycle

Maybe you automatically flip your dryer to top heat and choose the longest running time.

Keep in mind that dryers account for 6 percent of residential electricity consumption and by changing a few habits in the laundry room, you can save some energy.

    1. Whenever possible, use a clothes line or a drying rack to air dry clothes.
    2. Dry towels and heavier cottons separately from light-weight items. Keep in mind that overstuffing dryer will create longer drying cycles and waste energy.
    3. If you’re ready for greater efficiency, pick an ENERGY STAR clothes dryer, which uses 20% less energy than conventional models.
